"This experience changed my life. Being a part of the LDP showed me what servant leadership really was and what it meant to serve in our daily lives..."
"God has continuously used my experiences and friendships I gained to teach me and lead me as a follower of Christ..."
"I still have contact with most of the other LDP campers from when I attended and now I even go to college with one of them, and several other people who have worked as camp counselors before..."
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (LDP)
The purpose of the program is to help build skills and experience to prepare high school students to be leaders. This is accomplished through a biblical perspective to help students grow spiritually, mentally, and physically in a camp setting. Their are two phases to the program:
LIT (Leader In Training) entering grades 10th-12th
Our LIT program is a week-long intensive focused on training high school students to be Biblical leaders in their communities, schools, and churches by using their specific strengths and gifts. Through team-building challenges, serving in various areas of camp, training sessions, and personal reflective time with God, our LIT students have the opportunity to begin the journey of being the leader God has designed them to be.
CIT (Counselors In Training) entering grades 11th- 12th grade or graduating seniors
Our CIT program is the next step of leadership training for high school students after LIT. If you successfully complete your Counselor-in-Training training session, you can then be a Junior Counselor. Junior Counselors will shadow Summer Staff for a week and assist them in their cabins. They will support and assist their counselor with the campers and get hands-on experience counseling, as well as be encouraged, poured into, and receive further training from the LDP Counselors on a regular basis.
