Jr Cabin Leader Training

In order to register for this session, you must first complete the Junior Cabin Leader Application and be accepted into the program. Once accepted, you will receive the password to register.

This is a 4 day training session for teenagers who aspire to be future camp leaders and want to spend part of their summer impacting campers for Christ. During the Junior Cabin Leader Training session, students will learn how to be an excellent Biblical cabin leader through educational seminars, hands-on activities and challenges, and shadowing our summer staff.

If you successfully complete your Junior Cabin Leader Training session, you can be a Junior Cabin Leader serving in cabins for up to 2 weeks this summer. Junior Cabin Leaders shadow Summer Staff for a week of camp and assist them in their cabins. You will support and assist the cabin leader with the campers and get hands-on experience in summer camp leading.

Who can be involved in Jr Cabin Leader Training? 

Any high school student entering 10th or 12th grade in the fall AND has completed an Leader In Training session at Camp Rivercrest within the last 2 years, OR a student who will graduate high school in the spring.

What is the pricing structure?

Jr Cabin Leaders must register and pay for their training session and sessions they return to Junior Cabin Lead.

How do I register?

Because of the responsibility Jr Cabin Leaders are given, they must first apply to be in the program. Once Jr Cabin Leaders are approved, they will be automatically registered and receive an email with further details. We only have room for 28 Jr Cabin Leaders for the summer, so apply soon to ensure you get this amazing opportunity! I have already done Jr Cabin Leader Training, can I come again?

Yes! Our program thrives on veteran students returning to support summer camp and care for campers. You must complete Jr Cabin Leader training the same summer you want to be a Jr Cabin Leader.

Am I guaranteed to be a Junior Cabin Leader in a cabin?

Because of the responsibility we ask of our Jr Cabin Leaders, you must pass the Jr Cabin Leader training session in order to be a Jr Cabin Leader in a cabin. At the end of your training session, there will be an interview to evaluate your preparedness for being a Jr Cabin Leader. If you pass, you can go on to being a Jr Cabin Leader!

How do I choose what weeks I want to be a Jr Cabin Leader?

After your application has been approved and you have been registered for your training session, use the code from the email to register for the weeks you want to return. You can return as a Jr Cabin Leader after your training for up to 2 sessions.

IMPORTANT INFO

Your camper’s specific drop-off / pick-up window will be scheduled and emailed out 4 days prior to your camper’s session. A general guideline is times between 2:30pm-4pm.

All camper balances will need to be paid in full 4 weeks before your campers session start date.
