  WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ministry of Camp Rivercrest is dependent on summer staff that is committed to carrying out our mission. Summer staff have the incredibly large responsibility to being a Christ- like example to campers of all ages. We expect our summer staff to life a life that honors God at all times, not just while camp is in session.

Therefore, it is necessary for all applicatnts to:
*Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ
*Serve wherever needed, regardless of job description
* Maintain a postitive attitude throughout challenging and exhausting situations
* Demonstrate the love of Christ in all of their words and actions
* Refrain from the use of tobacco, alcohol, and/or illegal drugs while emplyoed, regardless of personal beliefs.
*follow all guildlines listed in the staff handbook.
*Use discernment in choice of dress, appearance and language

All jobs run from May 30-July 30th 2010

 

Pay Range: $180-250 per week. Depending on position and experience.

 

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

SUMMER MINISTRY TEAM:
Male and Female Positions available, must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010
The summer ministry team is r
esponsible to lead a group of campers including one-on-one interaction, building friendships, activity leadership, and much more. Need to be an enthusiastic leader, sensitive listener, positive role model, servant, and friend to every kid in the cabin. Must possess a mature and active faith in Christ and an ability to lead creative Bible studies. Need to have a love for, rapport with, and significant experience working with elementary through high school students yet be able to be assertive and disciplined. Must be in good health and be prepared for a physically and emotionally challenging summer.
Summer ministry team will rotate through counseling, activities, kitchen staff, and other various camp areas..

PROGRAM ASSISTANT:
One position available. Must be at least 22 years old by June 1, 2010
In addition to the summer ministry team responsibilities the program assistant will be responsible to work closely with the program coordinator to lead the summer team. Must be a strong leader with high energy and able to work alongside the summer ministry team, encouraging the team and holding peers accountable for meeting expectations. They will be responsible for nightly activities,  MCing chapel times, and meal organization. The program assistant must be a strong communicator with an outgoing personality.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (LDP) STAFF:
Four Positions available: two male and two female. Must be at least 22 years old by June 1, 2010
The leadership Development Program is a new program for Camp Rivercrest. It comes in two parts. The first being Leader In Training (LIT). These teens will spend two weeks of their summer learning what it means to be a leader. They will learn how to serve the Lord with their specific set of talents and abilities. They will stay as a group for both weeks (going home on the weekends) doing teambuilding activities, helping around camp, an opportunity to serve outside of camp, and spending time in Gods word.

The second part of LDP is Counselor in Training (CIT). These teens will also spend two weeks at camp. The first week they will spend as a group doing team building activities, learning what it means to work at camp, spending time in God’s word, serving in various ways at camp, and helping with camp programming. The second week they will spend in the cabins with the campers being junior counselors.

This is a very specialized program, that is almost completely separate program then the other summer camps going on. LDP staff must be strong leaders and have a heart for discipling, encouraging and holding accountable, high school students. They must have the ability to work as part of a team and also independently, be very organized and able to lead sessions. LDP staff may also rotate through some of the other summer ministry responsibilities. Experience in working with teens and teaching will be helpful.

WORSHIP DESIGNER:
One position available, must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010.
The Worship Designer will work with camp leadership and guest speakers to plan and implement music and worship for all camp programs. Need contagious love for Jesus, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and the ability to lead singing for large groups of youth. Responsible to set up and maintain stage set and audio equipment.  Must have strong accompanying skills on guitar. Must be willing to serve in a variety of areas as assigned by camp leadership. Will also coordinate video, scripture, readings and drama.

VIDEO SPECIALIST:
One position available, must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010.
Shoot video throughout each week of camp and edit raw footage down into a 8-10 minute, action-packed camper video be sold to campers and parents at the end of each week. Maintain all equipment regularly. Must have significant related experience, technical aptitude, creative abilities, and rapport with kids. This position also helps with running the sound system during chapel times.

SNACK SHACK MANAGER:
One position available, must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010.
The Snack Shack Manager is responsible for supervising and operating the Snack Shack (the camp store). Duties include operating and balancing a cash register, selling products and candy, inventory and ordering and picking up supplies and supervision of the staff assigned to you. Plus, other duties as assigned by camp leadership.

 MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL:
One position available and must be first responder certified or an RN by June 1, 2010
The medical professional is responsible for planning and providing for the health care of campers and staff. Responsibilities will include reviewing the health histories, communicating health needs to the administration and staff; administration of medications, providing first aid for illnesses and injuries, referring to outside medical agencies as needed, maintaining accurate health documentation and maintaining communication with camp administration, staff, parents and community resources as needed.

 PAINTBALL SPECIALIST:
Must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010
The paintball specialist is responsible for the facilitation and safety of the paintball area. They are to ensure that campers and staff are being safe and following all of the rules the Camp Rivercrest maintains. Must be assertive and not afraid to give directions. Should create a fun environment and good rapport with kids. Must be willing to be flexible and willing to help out with other areas as camp leadership assigns. Paintball experience preferred.

BIKE SPECIALIST:
Must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010
The Bike specialist is responsible for the facilitation and safety of the mini bike and BMX area. They are to ensure that campers and staff are being safe and following all of the rules the Camp Rivercrest maintains. They must have the ability to maintain bikes and do simple repairs on them. Must be assertive and not afraid to give directions. Should create a fun environment and good rapport with kids. Must be willing to be flexible and willing to help out with other areas as camp leadership assigns. Bike experience preferred.

LIFEGUARD:
Must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010
Must be certified. Should be able to maintain chemicals and high quality water and a clean pool area. Must be assertive and not be afraid to give directions and create a safe environment by making sure all safety standards are followed. Should create a fun environment and good rapport with kids. Must be flexible and also be willing to pitch in in other areas (maintenance, evening games & programs) when needed.

OFFICE ASSISTANT:
One position available, must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010.
The office assistant is responsible in assisting the administrative assistant in the daily functions of the office. Tasks could include processing bank money, answering and directing phone calls, sorting mail, processing paperwork, assisting the nurse in administrative tasks, and assisting in many other projects.
Must relate well to parents and have strong organizational and secretarial skills. Computer skills are a must.

KITCHEN HELP:
four positions available, must have completed one year of college or be at least 19 years old by June 1, 2010.
In the kitchen you will help with various kitchen duties from washing dishes, serving and cleaning up meals, mopping the floors, and other assignments from the leadership.
